Meetings
Santa Clara Valley Beekeepers Guild generally meets the first Monday of each month. Our monthly meetings are normally held at the Santa Clara City Library 7:00-9:00PM.. While subject to change the following is the calendar for the rest of the year. Be sure to check back for updates if you plan to attend. Also note that because of the library summer activities the location can change (rooms are not always available)..
Next Meeting
There was no July meeting as the normal day almost overlaps the holiday and most members are not available. The next SCVBG meeting date will be Monday, August 4, 2008 at 7:00 – 9:30 PM at the Campbell Community Center in Activity Room E-46. ( Note: NOT AT THE LIBRARY!) The subject will be "New Beekeeper's Equipment". If you think you want to have bees next season this is for you! Read our free books to get some idea of what is required. Go to your local library and read up on beekeeping. Then show up. If you do this, you will hear from experts on equipment and meet those that can help you. You will have a "head start" since it takes more than one weekend to do all that you need to do. For most folks it takes time to set up a hive or two for the first time. Good advice is on the web, but to talk to beekeepers and have available a real expert is what the SCVBG is all about. If you don't want to keep bees and just want to know more about beekeeping you are also welcome.
